In the Netherlands there is a special law criminalizing the possession of weapons; the Weapons and Ammunition Act (WWM). In this law the possession of various weapons is made punishable, such as the possession of knives, brass knuckels, blackjacks, pepper spray, stun guns (tasers), swords, grenades, guns and (alarm) pistols. The possession of ammunition is also punishable.
The WWM also contains special provisions on the possession of weapons that require a permit. Without this permit it is forbidden to own these weapons.
